Not too much to see here…just a few photos from the sloppy xmas party Dale and I (well, mainly Dale) pulled off at the last minute. Unfortunately, there were no photos taken of the drunken snow fight that followed.

The highlight of the evening was clearly when Frank wore one of our trash bags and danced to Missy Elliot’s “I Can’t Stand the Rain“.

Surely, in some indirect defiance of turning old, I decided to try out the local TSNY (trapeze school) for my 30th. Apparently, I fly through the air with some degree of ease…everyone kept saying how surprised they were that it was my first time. Loads of fun.

My second assignment for the photography class was a little less inspiring. I’m not exactly wild about portraits to begin with — it’s often so staged and cliche — but trying to capture compelling images while on a birthday wine trip (aboard a Keg Bus, no less) isn’t exactly easy. Nevertheless, I pulled together a fairly comprehensive set of images that seemed to please the class. And it challenged me to a degree, so I guess the objective was accomplished.

So our first assignment for photography class was to shoot flowers. Boring, right? So in lieu of traipsing down to the crowded Botanical Gardens — remember, I hate people — I decided to shoot some at home. But to make it interesting (and a bit evil), I subjected my flowers to freezing, cutting and fire. The whole affair actually turned out pretty well. Below is the final set.

A few photos from the party Woolly Mammoth theater hosted at the Mandarin Hotel this past weekend. Most of the pics are of Dale and Hugh getting harassed by a strange drunk man on the dance floor. That creepiness aside, the event was INCREDIBLY fun. Read more »

For years I’ve danced around the world of photography, taking pictures here and there (some good), but never really committing to the art, either in time of study. With the start of the New Year — so damn cliche, I know — I figured I’d try to finally change this. And what makes better motivation than buying a bunch of new goodies
-check out all the crap I bought!-

Sadly, there’s nothing evil about this post. Great friends Matt and Alex got married last month in Provincetown, and Dale and I were honored to attend. Alex’s very talented photographer cousin, Anthony, took some truly amazing and memorable photos. So here are some of Dale and me. Documented happiness — it’s a rarity!
