In case you were curious where where a Panda stands as compared to a Zombie. And does anyone know what the critter on the bottom left is? I want to say I know, but I’m drawing a blank.

This would be the perfect complement to my roadkill toys, but it’s not available for sale just yet. If you can’t laugh at the grisly depiction a flattened plushy, what can you laugh at?

Made in advance of the iPhone game based on the hit HBO show, these Dexter-inspired cases are pretty damn neat. No word on public availability, but I’d probably buy one just for kicks. I would not, however, purchase the iPhone game. Perhaps I’ve yet to come across a game that’s really worthwhile (save for Crayon Physics), but these expansive iPhone games don’t make a lot of sense to me.

Ideas like these are just wickedly creative. It’s a rather fleeting expression, but one that nevertheless deserves a “huh…that’s cool!”

The square of scorched earth is exactly 82 x 82 cm, representing the size equal to one pixel from an altitude of 1 km.

Smashing Magazine is one of my favorite sites for creative fodder; although it usually doesn’t have much in the way of “darker” art, if you know what I mean. Today, however, they posted a pretty cool round-up that is definitely worth checking out. A few pieces from their long list are below. Disappointed they didn’t grab anything from My Pet Skeleton.

Some really fascinating, devious work from the photography studio Staudinger+Franke. I love the dangerous perversion of everyday items.

I wish I could have captured the whole 2-hr affair, but that was a bit prohibitive. If I hit SXSW next year, I’ll definitely attend this workshop again.
